Taken in Bandera, Texas. It's so 2-D. Everything is in one plane, so it looks like a painting. Love the colors of the background, but still wanted some green in the leafs instead of making everything in the foreground black. (Nikon D7000, Nikkor 18-200mm at 35mm, 1/50 f/5, JPEG, Vivid)

There wasn't too much sun when I was in Park City for four days. I took this pic from the ski slope. When I was skiing downhill, there was this moment when the sun was shining just on the orange trees making them even more orange. My eyes went to those trees right away. (Nikon D7000, Nikkor 18-200mm at 52mm, 1/250 f/8)
I can't believe I sold my fish-eye lens. It was so much fun. I gave that up to buy my Tokina 11-16mm. The zoom range is similar but they are totally different lenses. I love this picture because it shows both new and old buildings. Nice contrast. (Nikon D90, Tokina 10-17mm DX Fish-Eye at 10mm, 1/500 f/11)
I took this pic at Hamilton Pool, about 30 minutes west of Austin. I wish I had my graduated filter and/or tripod. The sunny side of the picture is overexposed. It would've been so good if I had my graduated filter to block the upper right side. I could've also done HDR. Well, this picture at least emphasizes the indoor/outdoor feel of the pool, which is the most amazing thing about Hamilton Pool. (Nikon D7000, Tokina 11-16mm at 14mm. 1/50 at f/10, no filter, taken in Vivid mode)
This was taken at the Gin in Belton, Tx. Of course the focus is on the boot. I took this with the exposure adjustment down to -0.7 (Nikon D90, Nikkor 18-200mm at 90mm, 1/200 f/13)
An Indian wedding is a great place to take pictures. So colorful and cultural. I took this picture when it's not so colorful and festive, however. And, that's what makes it so ironic and interesting.....at least to me. There can be so many stories in this one picture. (Nikon D90, Nikkor 50mm, 1/60 f/1.4)
A singer of a band was nice enough to pose to my camera. Thanks to my D7000 with my fast 50mm, I was able to focus very quickly and didn't lose this opportunity. Luckily, composition is very good, too. I guess you don't have to be a pro if your equipment is good. All the technologies are making photography idiot-proof, huh? I guess most of it is about being there at right time and composing a picture, we don't have to worry too much about technical aspect of photography as much anymore. (Nikon D7000, Nikkor 50mm, 1/250 f/1.4, no post-processing)
This was taken at the Waco zoo. I could've used a better lens to make the bokeh better but I know I wouldn't carry more than one lens to walk around the zoo. (Nikon D90, Nikkor 18-200mm at 105mm, 1/100, f/9)
I like this picture a lot for some reason. The trees act as a frame but there is nothing in the frame. It's middle of summer on a golf course. I don't even remember why I took this picture but I'm glad that I did. (Nikon D7000, Tokina 11-16mm at 11mm, 1/200 f/7.1)
A lot of post processing here, including HDR. I don't like the greyish look of the HDR so I further post-processed it with Topaz Adjust. I now like the rich, golden look of the atrium of the cruise ship. (Nikon D90, Tokina DX Fish-eye 10-17mm at 10mm, f/3.5 ISO 640)
